I love summer! Lots of sunshine, family time, and BERRIES! In North Carolina, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries are in season during the beginning of summer. Nothing beats fresh berries, but you can find them in the frozen section as well. This delicious smoothie recipe uses blackberries, and is great for breakfast, or post workout replenishing. Use your favorite berries, or mix and match for a berry tasty treat!
1 cup of unsweetend vanilla almond milk
1 cup of organic spinach
1/2 of a medium banana
1 cup of frozen organic blackberries
1 tsp of chia seeds
Add a few ice cubes, blend and enjoy!
*It helps to blend the almond milk and spinach before adding the other ingredients
*For a colder smoothie, I use frozen spinach (I buy it from Trader Joe’s) and frozen bananas (I peel them, cut into chunks, and store in the freezer for quick access)
