Ashley Hathcock, HFS (Owner)
I have found my purpose in life by helping others become healthy. Early in life, I played sports and took dance and gymnastics classes, but mostly just enjoyed being active with other people. My mom nicknamed me the “Jane Fonda of the family” because of my enthusiasm for getting others to exercise. I received a BS in Exercise Science and MS in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and became a Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports medicine. My fitness experience officially began as a Group Fitness Instructor in 2007. From there, I have also obtained certifications in Kickboxing, Spinning, TRX, and YogaFit.
Between 2008 and 2014 I dedicated my time to managing fitness programs in the campus recreation setting. I grew both personally and professionally from leadership experiences at UNC Charlotte and University of Central Florida. While in Orlando, I also took on a life changing role as a boot camp instructor at Forte Fitness. The owners and members quickly became my family, and biggest supporters. When I moved back to North Carolina in 2014, I had a fresh start, and it quickly became apparent that a huge opportunity was knocking at my door. Thus, First in Flight Fitness was created as a product of my passion for helping others lead healthy lives, as well as the love and support from my family and friends.
